We are thrilled to announce an exciting new pinup dance class that brings together the artistry of burlesque and the charm of 1940s pinup poses! This unique fusion promises to be not only a fun dance class but also an opportunity to express yourself and celebrate body positivity.

You will finish your course with a fun and flirty routine set to “Candyman” by Christina Aguilera.

Burlesque Chair Dance

Burlesque Chair Dancing Course

4pm - 5.15pm (75 minute class)

Exercise your core, challenge your flexibility and unleash your inner cabaret superstar.

Over the course we will learn a combination of chair dancing tips and tricks - from back bends, to fan kicks and everything in between.

You’ll mix up these ‘showstopping’ tricks with some classing burlesque grinds and dips - learning how to take all your sexiest moves to the chair.

Each week we will work towards a progressive modern burlesque routine that can be performed on stage or just for that special someone.

While the class is designed to help you learn some new and impressive moves, it is a class for all levels of fitness, flexibility and ability. No experience is needed to join in! Modifications are encouraged for all movements.

FAN DANCING

Burlesque Feather Fan Dancing

5.30pm - 6.30pm

An ode to the original burlesque superstar, Sally Rand, this course will see you master the art of feather fan dancing.

Over 6 weeks you will learn foundation for feather fan dance poses, holds and transitions. You will be able to take these essential moves and learn a classic burlesque showgirl routine. At the end of the course you will be set to flutteryourself into a sultry fan-tastic extravaganza.

You have the option of performing with at our Burlesque Showcase in May 2025

If you are after a glamorous and low impact class this is the course for you!

• Something comfortable you can move in

• Heels (no anklebreakers)

• Feather fans

Cost is $120 per student or $150 to include loan of feather fans.

Silk Fan Dancing Technique Workshop

Have you always been curious about silk fan dancing? Looking for a taster in this art form?

In this workshop you will learn the basic techniques of this under utilised burlesque prop!

We will cover holding your silk fans and cover the key poses and transitions in this style.

This workshop is a great one off opportunity to learn the basic movements of this style. Or it is a great precurser to a longer silk fan dancing course that will give you all the foundations for future learning and performances!

 Act Development Course

Are you thinking of making a solo debut? Wanting to refine your burlesque routine?

Get the right guidance and support for your burlesque journey through this intimate mentoring opportunity.

Join Grace Cherry in this intensive act development course. This is a mentoring opportunity design to take your act from an idea to the stage, or to help you make sure your solo packs a WOW factor!

Working across individual intensive sessions and shorter group events, this program is designed to help you take an act from concept right up to stage.

Alternatively, you might be an emerging artist with an act that needs a bit of refinement and some support for your professional development.

During your journey, you will also build a peer support network with a small group of fellow performers. 

Through this program you will successfully perform a burlesque act to a live audience.  But more than a one off opportunity - this program helps you build a burlesque network and start your longer term burlesque practice - whether as a hobby or as a profession.

What does the course include?

• x1 45- 60 minute online individual introduction session (booked by appointment)

• x 1 group induction session online x 4 group coaching sessions with a focus on developing key skills you need for a professional solo debut:

  • Sunday 1 June 5pm - 6.30pm (group introduction)

  • Wednesday 11 June 7.45pm - 8.45pm (theme: choreography and musicality

  • Wednesday 18 June 7.45pm - 8.45pm (theme: striptease)

  • Wednesday 25 June 7.45pm - 9pm (theme: costuming and making a visual impression)

  • Sunday 27 July 4pm - 5.30pm (theme: facial expressions and routine presentation)

• x 1 in person coaching session (by appointment)

  Plus when you enrol you will also get:

• Access to a private Facebook group for ongoing Q&A and troubleshooting

• An original e-book by Grace Cherry full of tips and tricks

• Bonus tip sheets to help you rehearse and build an act from scratch

• Opportunity to perform your solo at the Burlesque Showcase at the Moonah Arts Centre in May 2025

The investment is $150 for students that have participated in this program before and $350 for new participants. Payment plans available on request.
